GenOffice là bộ office AI-native gồm trình soạn DOCX, bảng tính XLSX, slide PPTX và PDF, chạy trên macOS và Windows. Thay vì đặt chatbot bên cạnh tài liệu, dự án tích hợp agent vào trạng thái của từng editor để sửa block, workbook, slide hoặc PDF bằng tool call. Bản v0.5.1 có installer đã ký cho Apple Silicon và Windows x64.

Điểm kỹ thuật đáng chú ý là triết lý patch hẹp. Với DOCX, GenOffice giữ archive gốc, chỉ tái tạo paragraph bị sửa rồi ghép lại vào document.xml; những phần không chạm tới được giữ nguyên. Sheets dùng Univer cùng Rust sidecar cho import/export, còn Slides có engine parse/render/edit PPTX riêng. Mục tiêu là tránh lỗi thường gặp khi một thư viện đọc rồi ghi lại toàn bộ file Office.

Tính năng chính

Docs: pagination, tracked changes, comment, style, equation, ink và paragraph patch.
Sheets: formula, chart, pivot, slicer, conditional formatting và formula tracing.
Slides: master, chart, crop, ink, text shaping và chỉnh sửa bằng agent.
PDF: annotation, form, outline, stamp, signature và thao tác trang.
AI panel dùng chung, có snapshot/version diff cho nội dung sửa.
Installer ký sẵn; engine TypeScript được tổ chức thành package riêng.

Điểm mạnh

Repository có bộ test lớn cho DOCX/PPTX fidelity, hostile input, schema order, archive limit, external URL và agent loop. Exact-HEAD CI của dự án vượt qua unit, compatibility, build và E2E. Ở lần chạy độc lập, 1.925 test đã pass trước khi workspace bị chặn bởi rustc 1.86; dependency hiện yêu cầu Rust 1.88. Đây là kết quả mạnh nhưng vẫn chưa thay thế round-trip trên kho tài liệu Office thực tế.

Điểm đáng khen là dự án công bố số parity cụ thể thay vì nói chung chung: fixture pagination trong test cho thấy mức khớp với Word cao hơn LibreOffice, nhưng đây vẫn là fixture của dự án, không thay thế thử nghiệm với kho tài liệu thật của người dùng.

Hạn chế

GenOffice còn rất mới, public history ít commit và API/file fidelity chưa ổn định. AI call đi qua dịch vụ Genspark sau khi đăng nhập; ứng dụng không phải local AI hoặc BYOK thuần túy. Dữ liệu tài liệu nào được gửi để model xử lý cần được người dùng đánh giá theo chính sách dịch vụ.

Code chính Apache-2.0 nhưng thư mục ee/ dùng enterprise license riêng. Tuyên bố giữ nguyên layout cần test với DOCX/PPTX có font đặc thù, macro, OLE, SmartArt hoặc plugin doanh nghiệp. Node .nvmrc ghi 20 trong khi một số dependency hiện yêu cầu Node 22+, một dấu hiệu setup phát triển cần được làm rõ.

Phù hợp khi nào

GenOffice đáng thử với người muốn AI sửa file Office thật thay vì xuất Markdown rồi copy lại. Hãy thử trên bản sao tài liệu, so sánh round-trip bằng Word/Excel/PowerPoint và không dùng file duy nhất chưa backup trong giai đoạn beta.
