Tổng quan

CrewAI là framework Python cho multi-agent AI, viết từ scratch và không phụ thuộc LangChain hay framework nào khác. Ý tưởng chính: tạo "crew" gồm nhiều agent có vai trò riêng biệt, cùng phối hợp giải quyết task phức tạp. Có 2 mode chính: Crews cho agent tự trị và Flows cho workflow event-driven trong production.

Tính năng chính

  • Crews: nhóm agent phân vai trò (researcher, writer, reviewer...), tự delegate task cho nhau, ra quyết định autonomous
  • Flows: kiến trúc event-driven cho production, state management, conditional branching, tích hợp với Python code thường
  • Crews + Flows combo: kết hợp cả 2 cho hệ thống phức tạp, cân bằng giữa autonomy và control
  • CrewAI AMP Suite (enterprise): tracing, observability, control plane, on-premise/cloud deploy, 24/7 support
  • Crew Control Plane: dashboard quản lý, monitor và scale agents, có free tier
  • Hỗ trợ nhiều LLM: OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, local models qua Ollama

Stack kỹ thuật

Python 3.10-3.13, dùng UV cho dependency management. Cài qua uv pip install crewai. Thêm crewai[tools] cho bộ tool mở rộng (web search, file read, API calls...). Có telemetry anonymous mặc định (tắt được).

Điểm mạnh

  • Standalone, không dependency chain dài như LangChain. Nhẹ và nhanh

  • Telemetry bật mặc định, cần tự tắt nếu không muốn gửi data
  • Enterprise features (AMP Suite) là commercial, pricing không public
  • Yêu cầu Python 3.10+, không chạy trên Python cũ hơn

So sánh

So với LangGraph: CrewAI đơn giản hơn, focus vào role-based collaboration thay vì graph-based orchestration. LangGraph linh hoạt hơn về control flow nhưng phức tạp hơn. So với AutoGen (Microsoft): CrewAI focus crew metaphor với vai trò rõ ràng, AutoGen focus conversation patterns giữa agents.

Phù hợp khi nào

Khi cần build hệ thống multi-agent bằng Python với API đơn giản. Đặc biệt hiệu quả cho workflow có phân vai trò rõ ràng: research, analysis, writing, review. Nếu cần enterprise features (monitoring, deploy), AMP Suite là lựa chọn.
